Fantabulous Food! Snickers Blondies

I just got my Woman's Day magazine this week (which I got through a free offer), and I noticed this recipe that looked so delicious. It's from a collection of recipes designed to help you use up any left over Halloween Candy and since I just got that awesome CVS deal yesterday on the candy I knew it was perfect timing.

Snickers Blondies

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter at room temperature
• 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 12 fun sized Snickers candies, quartered

1. Heat over to 350º F. Line an 8" square pan with parchment paper, leaving a 2" overhang on 2 sides. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla. Reduce speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until incorporated.

Cut your snickers in half and then in half again.

That's a lot of tastiness :)

Fold Snickers pieces in to the batter.
3. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake until golden brown and a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached, 25 to 30 minutes.

4. Let the blondie cool completely in the pan. Using the overhangs, transfer blondie to a cutting board and cut into 16 bars.

I have to say, these were really good :) They honestly came out a little bit dry, so next time I will add a little more wet ingredients. They were still good, especially when you eat them with ice cream. Here is my husband approving this recipe :)

So give these a try :) I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be delicious with many chocolate and caramel candies. I'm thinking Twix, Milky Way, 100 Grand... Mmmmm...

Walmart has some great Olay Gift Sets on sale for only $10 with free shipping :) These were very popular last year around Christmas and I looked in the store every time I went to no avail. The reason these are so coveted is because of what it comes with:

First off,  Amazon offers the subscribe and save discount on this product which will drop the price by 15%, making the price $33.57. Then if you look below the item description and price, you will see a $1 clip-able coupon, which will make the price $32.57 including free shipping!

Also, Olay has a current mail in rebate for $15 that you can submit, taking the overall price down to $17.57! That is really not a bad price considering the regular price for this kit is $47.

I was super pleased about the tampon find :) And I have been in need of work socks for a little while and we have been out of Downy for a while. I wish there had been more Wet Ones on clearance, but there were only 3 left and I needed an even number to use my coupon. At least I got a few :)

• 20 oz Dr. Pepper, $1.77 - Used Free Beverage or Candy CVS printable coupon, $2 value = Free + 23¢ overage
• Secret Clinical Deodorant, $8.99 - Used Free coupon from PG to replace defective product - Also get $1 this week = Free
• 2 Lady's Mitchum Deodorants, $1.99 each - Used $3 off 2 Mitchum Deodorants coupon from the magic coupon machine and two $1 off coupons from the newspaper = 2 for Free + $1.02 overage
• Gold Emblem Candy Corn, get 99¢ ecbs this week, 99¢

So, for everything I got, my pre-coupon total was $50.57 (before my card was scanned it was $66.64!), but after all my coupons, my total was $8.69. I used $3.99 of ecbs from my last trip so I only paid $4.70! That is pretty remarkable for CVS :) Also, I got back $9.99 in ecbs from all my deals :) Not a bad return on those free coupons :)

**This is why you hold onto free coupons! I've had these for a while, but I hang onto them so I can use them to my advantage - like this time I used them to make money in the store. Make sure you use them before they expire, but hold them until the last week :)

To top off all my deals, I made sure to snag a free rental from both Redbox and Blockbuster :) Now while I put my stuff away, my husband can watch Thor or The Fighter :)
