Fantabulous Food! Carrabba's Limoncello Bread Pudding

We went to Carrabba's back in July for my sister's birthday and I ordered this delicious dessert. I have wanted it again ever since, but it was a seasonal special and they no longer offer it. So, I looked it up online and found their actual recipe :) And it was every bit as good.

Carrabba's Limoncello Bread Pudding:

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup Limoncello
  • 7 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 quarts stale bread
1. Take your stale bread - I just used store bought white bread (about 1/2 a loaf), but you can use fancier if you wish - and cut it into cubes. I just ripped min into pieces, but it's up to you. Put the bread into a 9x13" pan.
2. Combine heavy cream, milk, eggs, sugar, limoncello, and vanilla and mix well with an electric mixer.
3. Pour liquid over bread pieces - make sure that all the bread is moistened. Let sit for 20 minutes to soak in.
4. Cover with foil and bake at 350º F for40 to 50 minutes. Bread will puff up as it bakes.
5. Make simple syrup: combine 1/4 cup limoncello (or lemon juice) and 1/4 cup sugar in a saucepan and stir while heating until sugar is completely dissolved.
6. Serve bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and drizzle simple syrup on top :)

I was incredibly surprised at how easy this was to make and it really was just as good as the one I had at Carrabba's. Can't beat that :)

Bzz Review: Trend Micro Titanium Max Security

I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not, but I was offered a really awesome Bzz Campaign a month or so ago and I was give a free subscription to Trend Micro's new security software: Trend Micro Titanium. I didn't want to just jump in and say how great it was. I tend to have a lot of problems with spyware, etc. So I really wanted to put this program through its paces before I made my judgement. The result: I am really happy with this program!
Trend Micro Titanium can be purchased at different levels of security, but for this trial I was given the Maximum Security Version (yahoo!) so I could really give this baby a try. Installation was very easy - I did have to remove my free version of AVG before it could install - you just open up the installer and let it do its thing. Upon opening for the first time, you can go into your account and select the different things you want the program to focus on or you can just go with the suggested setup (that's what I did - I'm not confident enough to know I set things up right).

What are the benefits of Trend Micro Titanium?
Well, one thing that really stood out with this program is that is actually works through your entire network of devices in your house - not just your main computer it's installed on. This covered my desktop, my husband's laptop, and even our smart phones! How cool is that?

Of course, you get protection against malware, spyware and other threats like programs that capture your passwords and credit card numbers. You can also set up parental controls for your network to keep your kids safe online. Titanium also defends your computer from issues that can infiltrate your system through social network sites like Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter.

How does it work?
I will not lie, I'm not so internet-security-savvy. I know my way around the things I need to use on my computer, but other than that I am kind of a ditz. This program took care of that for me by knowing what it was doing :) Even if I don't do anything else with the program, it always scans my computer 2 times a week to make sure my system is clean. The coolest thing = since I started using Titanium Max Security, I have had no threats found on any of the scans. The program keeps my computer clean without having to ask me constantly if I want to allow things like other software - those annoy the heck out of me - this one just does the work it knows it should to keep my info safe. I just set it and forgot about it :)

What are the extra features?
A neat feature about this software is that you can actually do a system tune up! You just choose the option from the menu and let it go so gain improved performance from your machine.

Also, if your laptop is ever stolen or you leave it somewhere and you're worried about someone getting into your files, you can actually locate and lock your files remotely or even wipe your data if you have to. I had never heard of a security program with this option before and it is really a comforting idea. This remote file deletion is available on your smartphone too so all your devices are safe even if they are taken.

How can you get in on this?
Currently, you can get $30 off Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security on the Trend Micro Website using code BZZ30 at checkout. This can make for a really great deal on this software. If you're more of an in-store purchaser, Trend Micro Titanium can be found at most mass retailers such as Best Buy, etc.

What's my final verdict?
I have to say, I am really glad Bzz Agent chose me to try this program. This has really turned out to be the perfect software for me - it's very user friendly and you can literally set it up once and forget about it! You can involve yourself with the program as much or as little as you want and it will still keep your computers and devices safe and sound. My recent scan speaks for itself: Not Threats Found :) That's a beautiful phrase. I have felt the horrible sinking in my stomach when I got a virus (I've had a few, including win32 <--- a really nasty one), and now I feel like I don't have to worry about that anymore because this program has really got my back :) I highly recommend Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security for both computer geeks and casual device users alike. It has great features that really set it apart from the competition and it has worked great for me.

Want to try products like this program for yourself?
If you are not already signed up on Bzz Agent, I highly recommend you head over there now and get started. It's free to join and you will be offered trial campaigns with full sized products to try and coupons or samples to give to your friends. All you have to do is be honest and tell others what you think! Become a Bzz Agent today!

Organize Yourself: Neaten Up Your Recipes

Are you a recipe collector like me? While this is a tasty hobby over all, usually it ends up looking like this:
I have quite a little mess of recipes, sometimes I keep the whole magazine together so I can clip out several so I usually have a big stack of magazines and papers. This can take up a lot of space and it really isn't efficient. What are the odds of you remember which magazine and on what page a recipe you read once is on? Not very good, I can tell you that. So, I have devised a way to still keep all my recipes, but to organize them into a usable collection.

What you will need:
  • A composition notebook (I like to grab the cute ones after the back to school sales)
  • A pair of scissors
  • A roll of clear tape
Basically, I just cut the recipes to fit and tape them in the book like so.
Things do get a little more complicated when you have a double sided recipe, but with a little cleaver taping and folding, you can just tape one side down and then you can fold out to see the opposite.
Sometimes, you will have to change the direction of your tape so you can flip upwards, etc.
Another issue I have run into is sticky recipes. I have found some that are stuck on products or newspapers as peelies, so I take cellophane and stick the peelie to it, then cut it back out of the cellophane and tape it down - now you can clearly see the recipe, but it won't stick to your other pages.
Also, I like to try and keep the pictures of the finished recipes if I can. Sometimes this takes a little rearranging, but you can usually make them all fit together.
Cut the pictures off and tape them individually wherever they will fit.
This can occasionally become more like a puzzle...
...but with a little moving around, you will always be able to make them fit. Don't be afraid to cut down the pictures. If you notice, I cut just a corner off this picture of the soufflé, but you can still see how delicious it is even smaller :)
Every now and then, I come across two recipes that are printed back to back in a way that I can't harvest both to put them in the book, so I will have write one and tape the other in. You can even try to keep a small portion of the picture to go along with the hand-written version.
So, now that you have all of the recipes in your book, how can you tell which one is where? Well, as soon as I get a book full, I start working on an index. I start by giving each page a number.
Then I make a list of them all with their page numbers, alphabetize them, and write them in the back few pages of the book.
The index does take a little time, but it will save you so much more time in the long run. It's so nice to look in the index and know exactly what page the recipe I am looking for is on.

So, now you can go from this:
to this:
Now doesn't that fit a little nicer on your shelf?
By investing a little time now, you can call on any recipe you want with little effort later on. Hopefully this helps to keep you a little more organized!

Bzz Review: Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin Products

I was so excited when I was chosen to try out Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin line. I have notoriously difficult skin when it comes to cleansers. My skin is pretty sensitive and I'm constantly having to use concealer on various red spots caused by irritation. On the flip side though, I also have very oily skin, so if I don't use a deep cleanser I will break out like a 15 year old boy. Since my skin likes to be so finicky, I am always keen to try new facial products - it's like the quest for that holy grail product that I have yet to find.

Bzz Agent was kind enough to send me a full sized bottle of Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser and of Burt's Bees Daily Moisturizing Cream. I immediately went to the bathroom and washed my face. Unfortunately, the cleanser did leave my skin still feeling oily. If my skin feels even slightly oily after it's washed, I will look like an oil slick by 6pm, so I had to stop using the cleanser. I'm still on the search for a friend with dry, sensitive skin to give it a try.

On the other hand, I am completely in love with the moisturizer. I have been using it every day for a week now and it keeps my dry areas moisturized all day without making me look shiny at the end of the day. Also, I can honestly tell a difference with it being all natural and made for sensitive skin. My usually redness from irritation has been significantly subdued compared to what it was with the other moisturizer I was using before. I liked it so much, I gave one of the samples to my grandma to try out since she has similar skin to mine.  I really hope it works well for her :)

I still have a few samples left for the moisturizer, so if you are interested in giving this product a try, email me at showandtellmeg@gmail.com.

Coincidentally, if you would like to grab a full sized one of these products for yourself, Burt's Bees has a $2 off Any Burt's Bees Sensitive Product printable coupon on their Facebook page. Just 'like' them and click coupon on the left hand side to grab one. Also, if you are a Target shopper, you can stack that $2 off with a few other Target printable store coupons:
  • $2 off Burt's Bees Sensitive Eye Cream
  • $2 off Burt's Bees Sensitive Cleanser 6oz
  • $2 off Burt's Bees Sensitive Night Cream
  • $2 off Burt's Bees Sensitive Daily Cream
All of these Target coupons expire 11/19, and if you stack the two together, that gets you $4 off. Most of the Burt's Bees Sensitive products go for between $9.95 and $14.95, so you would be getting up to 40% off with the stack!

I highly recommend grabbing these coupons to get this great deal and give these products a try. Go for the moisturizer! Thank you Bzz Agent for letting me take these for a test drive!

*I was given these Burt's Bees products for free to try from Bzz Agent, but all the opinions expressed are 100% my own.

I Got My Fekkai Bzz Kit!

Woo Hoo! I was thrilled to be chosen for the Fekkai Bzz Campaign a few weeks ago, and my kit came today! Here is everything I got:

  • Bzz Agent Letter
  • Fekkai Bzz Guide
  • Fekkai DVD with videos for me to watch
  • Full Sized bottle of Fekkai Fulll Volume Shampoo
  • Full Sized bottle of Fekkai Fulll Volume Conditioner
  • 7 sample of Fekkai Glossing Cream
  • Sample of Fekkai Technician Color Care Shampoo
  • Sample of Technician Color Care 3-Minute Mask
I have always been curious to try Fekkai products, but I have to have volumizing shampoo and most of the other samples I've been able to snag are the glossing cream and such. Also, these products tend to be a little on the expensive side (especially when I've gotten so much free shampoo lately), so I've never had the need to spring the money to try it out. Now I get to try it for free :) So stay tuned for my review of this product. Maybe I'll even take a picture of my luscious hair :)
*Are YOU a Bzz Agent? It's free to join and you can sign up for Bzz Campaigns which get your free products to try out and tell your friends about. As you can see, these are some good freebies - Sign up today to get started!
