WIP Wednesday: It Looks Like A Sweater!

Well my month long project is finally looking like what it is meant to be - a sweater :) I sewed the raglan seams together on Monday night and picked up stitches for the neckband. Holy crap did that take forever! The bound off edges don't equal the exact number of stitches you have to pick up, so it's not perfect and i kept having to pull the stitches out and try again to get it even. The collar is going well now though and I've got it about 4 inches long, so I have about 4 more inches to go. 

I was so excited to have the pieces somewhat attached that I tried it on and it looked like a strange cape, lol, since none of the sides or sleeves were sewn. Oddly enough, the Craftsy class doesn't have you sew these seams until you have everything else done. Well, I needed some quicker satisfaction than that so I seamed them all last night. It took SO LONG!!! I now fully understand why I hear people say they love knitting sweaters in the round - seaming = the devil. If I didn't have to sew this thing together, I would have it done by now. Lesson learned though. I have learned how to seam, but hopefully I never have to do it again, lol.

It's not completely sewn yet - there are still holes in the arm pits and none of the ends are woven in, but I was able to put the sweater on and I am really happy with how it's turning out :) I may have even worn it outside last night to walk the dog (with the circular needle around my neck and the working yarn skein tucked under my arm), and I can confirm that it is nice and warm :) Now I just have to finish the collar, pick up and knit the button bands, and weave in my ends and I'll be finished! I'm doubting very much that I will be able to reveal it on FO Friday, but since I started this on the 28th of December I am hoping to finish it by the 28th of this month so I can say I completed it in 4 weeks, lol. It's certainly gone faster than I hoped and I can't wait to be able to wear it!
