Today's Publix Trips

So, I know you must read the title of this and think I'm ridiculous for going to Publix more than once in a day. I honestly didn't mean for it to happen. I will explain as I go. I began with a trip to the PSJ Publix on my way home from work. Here is what I got from my first trip:
  • 10 Yoplait Yogurts, 20 for $10 - Used $1 off 8 coupon from the $15 GM coupon booklet and 50¢ off 10 Target printable coupon = 10 for $3.50
  • 2 boxes of Jala Frozen Yogurt Bars, $3.99 B1G1 - Used two 50¢ off printable coupons = 2 for $2.99
  • 2 boxes of Pierogies, $2.59 B1G1 - Used $1 off coupon from May All You Magazine = 2 for $1.59
  • Peter Pan (large size) Penut Butter, $2.69 - Used $1 off coupon from sample of Orville Reddenbacher Popcorn Bowl - $1.69
  • 10 Bic Soleil Disposable Razors (3 and 4 count), $5.49 each - Used rain check for B1G1 sale and ten $3 off coupons from newspaper = All Free + $2.55 overage
  • 4 cute, bright colored plastic baskets, clearance 2 for $1.99
I also used a $5 off $30 Publix coupon from the 6/1 Orlando Sentinel. My pre-coupon and sale total was $58.01 but I only paid $8.33. That's 86% savings! Woo Hoo!
I'm so glad I got this rain check! They ran out of the razors because of all the couponers and they have been out of stock ever since even at the warehouses. Even though I got the rain check on May 4 and Publix's rain check are supposed to be used within 30 days, they were more than happy to honor my check due to the fact that they have not had these in stock until now. I asked at the customer service desk before I checked out and they girl actually wrote me a new rain check and changed the date so the cashier would be able to put it through with no problems. So, if a store is out of a product, Always Ask For A Rain Check! This is a great way to make sure you always get the deals that you work so hard preparing for.
I was already happy with my purchases and after Publix, I headed to Target to see if they had restocked the John Frieda Full Repair products that they were out of on Monday. They were still out. Fortunately, I had a contingency plan :) I read on I Heart Publix about a deal on the same product at Publix, but the sale ended tonight. So, after my quick trip to Target, I headed to the Titusville (Knox McRae) Publix. Here is what I picked up there:
    • 10 John Frieda Full Repair - 5 shampoos and 5 conditioners, $2 off price cut to $3.49 - Used ten $2 off Any John Frieda Product coupons from the 6/5 SS insert, three $3 off 2 Full Repair Products Target coupons from the Beauty Bag mailer, and two $3 off 2 Full Repair Products Target printable coupons = 10 For Free + 10¢ overage!
    • Cutter Skinsations Insect Repellent, $4.19 - Used two $2 off Any Cutter Product printable coupons and two $2 off Target printable coupons = $0.19
    • Foot Long Buffalo Chicken Sub, on sale $6.99
    • 22oz Fountain Drink, $1.19 - Used Free 22oz Fountain Drink wyb Foot Long Buffalo Chicken Sub Publix printable coupon = Free
My pre-coupon and sale total was $71.53, after the sale was factored in it was $50.10. This was great! I knew I would be over $30 so I could use another $5 off store coupon, but the fact that it was over $50 meant I could use my $5 off $50 store coupon from the 6/1 Red Plum Mailer, saving my $5 off $30 coupon for next week's sale :) Hopefully this makes sense - it is much harder for me to arrange my coupons and sales on items I have space and/or a need for to make the total higher than $50. Most of my purchases lately have been between $30 and $45, so now I know I will be able to take advantage of all of the $5 off store coupons I have :)
Anyway - back to the total. Pre-coupons, the total was $50.10 but I only paid $4.74! That means I saved 93%! Holy crap! That's the best percentage I have saved ever :) So, even though I didn't get the $5 gift cards from Target, I still have the newspaper coupons I need to do that deal later on if they get more in stock and I can use my husband's computer to print the Target coupons, so I will be able to double dip on this deal :)

Another plus to my trips - I found a new coupon pamphlet!
This is the Why Dairy Makes Sense  coupon pamphlet. It lists all the dairy sales for June, which is apparently "Dairy Month", along with 6 Publix store coupons :)
    • $1 off Any 2 Ben & Jerry's or Starbucks Ice Cream Pints
    • $1 off Any 2 Cabot Cheese 8oz
    • $1 off Any Polly-O Mozzarella Chunk 8-16 oz or Ricotta 15-32 oz (excludes string cheese)
    • B1G1 Free Better'N Eggs Plus 14 oz
    • 65¢ off Any Promise Spread 15oz Bowl
    • 75¢ off Any Organic Valley Milk Half Gallon
All of these coupons expire June 17, which is a bit of a bummer to only have 1 week, but at least I found them at all :) If you go to the Knox McRae store, they are in the spinning display at the front with the weekly sale ads.
