Well, I was being responsible last week and working on squares for my Happypotamas, but Saturday I just did not have a good day. I'm not generally an anxious person, but I occasionally have minor episodes with anxiety. Saturday was such a day - no matter what I did I just couldn't shake it off. Whenever I start to feel this way, I know i need to knit. Something about knitting in particular just really helps me get over it. So, I set my Happypotamas aside and started on this little guy:
Isn't it the cutest?! This is the Confused Moose from Knitting Mochimochi by Anna Hrachovec. I've always thought he was cute, but never had any concrete plans to make him until now. I'm so glad I did :) I just barely finished attaching his antlers and arms last night. He isn't done though! He will get cuter! The 'confused' part of the title relates to how the pattern has little birds all over him - sitting on his antlers, head and arms. So cute :) Starting tonight, I will be making birds. I wanted to stick with a similar type of yarn for the whole project (I'm weird that way), so I pulled out a bunch of colors of Caron Simply Soft from my stash. I'm still deciding which specific colors to use, but the orange will be for their beaks. I'm thinking definitely pink, purple and yellow, but I can't decide on a blue... So check back on Friday to see the final result!
I've been completely addicted to audiobooks lately, so I've finished several books between the ones I've reviewed already and this one. Catching Fire just became available to check out from the library last night, so I jumped on it. I just finished The Hunger Games last week and I'd like to finish off the whole series. It's entertaining and makes for good knitting time.
Well, that's been my fun for this week - head over to Tami's Amis' Blog to see what others are up to :)
