Publix + CVS = Exhausted But Satisfied

Man has it been a long day! I'm honestly really worn out. It was so busy at work and I was on my feet the whole time. Anyway, despite my fatigue and a headache, I still had to go out to try and snag some deals. First I went to Target to try and get some Swiffers I had seen on clearance Saturday but didn't have the coupons for only to find someone else had the same idea and they were gone. Bummer. So, I ran to Publix to try and use a gift card offer that expires today, but I ended up not doing it. Even though I would have loved to get a $5 gift card, none of the items you need to buy in order to receive the gift card were on sale and I didn't need them. So, I had to let that one go. I did leave the coupon for the next hopeful patron though :) Hopefully it got used.

Here is what I did get at Publix:
  • 2 Gallons of Milk, $3.89 each - Used two $1 off milk wyb Any Nabisco Cookies printable coupon (no longer available) = $2.89 each
  • 4 Chips Ahoy Cookies, $3.59 B1G1 - Used two $1 off wyb Chewy Gooey and Any Other Chips Ahoy coupons from the Chewy Gooey Facebook Sample and B3G1 Target printable coupon = 39¢ each
  • 2 boxes of Orville Redenbacher Popcorn, $4.89 B1G1 - Used $3 off 2 Target printable coupon = 94¢ each
  • 4 Papermate Pen 10 packs, 2 for $1 - Used two $1 off Any Papermate Product Target printable coupons = 4 for Free
  • Publix Vanilla Ice Cream (my husband has been begging me for this!), $3.50
  • Immaculate Baking Co Cookie Dough (I should never shop when I'm hungry), $2.50
  • 4 bottles of Soft Scrub Cleaner, $3.29 B1G1 - Used four $1.50 off Any Soft Scrub Product coupons from the newspaper = 14¢ each
  • $50 BP Gas Card - Used $10 off Any $50 Gas Card with $25 purchase coupon from the Publix Ad = $40
So, on top of all these coupons, I used one of my $5 off $30 Winn Dixie Coupons from the Experience The City coupon booklet. Without my coupons and sales, my total would have been $111.32, but I only paid $51.24. Also, I used the $5 Publix card I got from my purchases last week and a $5 gift card from the Kelloggs Cars 2 Promotion, so I only paid $41.24 out of pocket for everything :)

I know I could have done better if I had only stuck to my coupon items, but I'm still happy with my result :)

After Publix, I hit CVS on the way home to get my "Free Items" from the Magic Coupon Machine that their ad says I will get this week. I was very happy with the results :) Here are the coupons I got today:
    • Free CVS Brand Fabric Bandages 20 ct (up to $4.29 value)
    • Free Hershey's Caramello 1.6 oz (up to $1.19 value)
    • Free Carefree Pantyliners 20 ct (up to $1.69 value)
    • $1 off Lumene Sensetive Touch Cleansing Wipes
    • 50¢ off Big Chill Purified Water, 20 oz
    • $1 off Air Delight Kisses, bagged candy
    • $3 off Any $15 Grocery purchase
Unfortunately, they were out of the bandages and the caramellos. On the up side, CVS being who they are will honor that coupon until the item comes back in stock, so if you get one and your store is out, just hang onto it. I still have my Free Hershey's Air Delight chocolate bar coupons from a few months ago - they haven't gotten any in yet! But I know how they are and the associates are very nice about store coupons even if they are expired. Here is what I did get though:
    • 1 Gallon of Milk, $3.39
    • 2 bottles of Dr. Pepper, 88¢ each
    • 2 bottles of Gatorade Perform, $1 each
    • 2 packs of Gatorade Prime, $1.50 each
    • Carefree Pantyliners 20 ct, $1.57 - Used Free coupon from the Magic Coupon Machine = Free
    • Revlon Coconut Crush Scented Nail Polish, $3.99 - Used $1 off coupon from the 8/14 newspaper = $2.99
I got most of these items because I wanted to use my $3 off $15 coupon to the best advantage with the ECB deals that are going on. For everything you see, my I paid $10.71, but I $8 in ECBs! I got $5 back on the Gatorade products (Spend $5 on Gatorade Prime Products and get $5 ECBs) and $3 back on the nail polish (Buy Any Revlon Nail Polish and get $3 ECBs).

The ad says that the nail polish deal is on the Top Speed Nail Polish which is priced at $4.99. I thought I was going to be paying that because the scented nail polishes are below the Top Speed but there is no different price listed, so it was a nice surprise to end up getting it completely free after the ecbs. So pick out a scented nail polish and take it to the Magic Coupon Machine to check the price before you checkout, then you can end up with a freebie :)

Now I will be taking a much needed rest, but I will rest better thinking of all the sweet deals I got tonight :)
