Unreal Candy Bars - Review and CVS Deal

If you haven't cashed in your free Unreal Candy coupon from CVS, I have great news for you :) CVS currently has the 4 varieties of Unreal candy marked down to 69¢ each. Why is this good news? Well, the free coupon CVS emailed out earlier this week automatically takes of 99¢, so I was able to get 2 unreal candy bars and I paid only 42¢ :)

The chocolate is a better quality than other similar bars - the only way I can describe it is that is tasted more like something out of a box of chocolates than a normal candy bar you get at the store. Free Candy or Drink at CVS (First 20,000)

Go here and register your CVS card number for their Twitter party (you will need a Twitter account). The first 20,000 to register for the party will get a coupon emailed to them on 3/27 before the party starts. The coupon is good for a free candy or beverage item and is valid 3/27 - 3/29 only. Target, Publix, and CVS - Oh My!

I started off my deal hunting today at Target :) There were a few things I forgot on my last trip.

• Aussie Hi Hold + Hi Shine Hairspray (with cute little kangaroo doll + $1 coupon), $2.84 - Used Free coupon from defective product = Free
• 4 Dentyne Ice 3 packs, $2.00 - Used four $1 off Dentyne Multi Pack coupon from the 3/4 SS AND four $1 off Target printable coupons = 4 for Free

I only ended up paying 42¢ for the tax :)

Next was on to Publix :) I went to the PSJ store first but they only had 3 boxes of Crispix, and I had to have 4 to use my coupons. So, I headed to the Knox McRae store and I was not disappointed :)

Without my coupons my total would have been $69.22, but I only paid $8.41! Yahoo :) And my dad wants to buy some of the Cheez-Its off me (let's face it - I certainly don't need that many crackers), so my total will have been $2.03 out of pocket :) In case you were having trouble finding the Indulgence locally  (all the stores were out of stock last week), both the PSJ and Knox McRae stores have them now.
*Also, I only needed 2 more cereal UPCs to send in my Kellogg's $10 Gas Card Mail In Rebate, so I will be getting $10 back in the mail :)

On my way home I figured I would store in CVS to scan my card and see if I got any sweet coupons. When I didn't, I decided to check on a few items that have been out of stock but I had free coupons for - the great thing about CVS is that if their coupon machine gives you a coupon for a free item but the store is out of stock, they will still honor the coupon later on no matter when it expired.

• 2 boxes of CVS brand Fabric Bandages, $3.99 and $3.69 - Used 2 Free coupons from the Magic Coupon Machine (expired 8/16/11!) = 2 for Free

Moral of the story = Always keep your CVS coupons even if the item is out of stock!

I managed to snag a few deals for myself today at CVS. I must confess, I did 4 transactions to do it, but luckily there was no one waiting in line :)

I will confess, I just really wanted the Aveeno. But since I could get them each for $4, I figured it was a decent enough price for something I really like. I also love that eye liner from Physician's Formula. I use it every day so I wanted an extra to make sure I don't run out :)

Then I made my way to CVS on a whim and I'm very glad I did :)

• 4 bags of Fun Size Mars Candies (Snickers, Milky Way and Twix), 4 for $10 - Used $1.50 off 2 coupon from All You Magazine and $1 off 2 peelie on the bags - Also get $4 ecbs wyb 4 = $1.87 each
• 2 packs of 14 Prilosec OTC, $10.99 each - Used two Free coupons from Target Mailer - Also get $2 ecbs this week, limit 2 = 2 for Free
• 20 oz Dr. Pepper, $1.77 - Used Free Beverage or Candy CVS printable coupon, $2 value = Free + 23¢ overage
• Secret Clinical Deodorant, $8.99 - Used Free coupon from PG to replace defective product - Also get $1 this week = Free
• 2 Lady's Mitchum Deodorants, $1.99 each - Used $3 off 2 Mitchum Deodorants coupon from the magic coupon machine and two $1 off coupons from the newspaper = 2 for Free + $1.02 overage
• Gold Emblem Candy Corn, get 99¢ ecbs this week, 99¢

So, for everything I got, my pre-coupon total was $50.57 (before my card was scanned it was $66.64!), but after all my coupons, my total was $8.69. I used $3.99 of ecbs from my last trip so I only paid $4.70! That is pretty remarkable for CVS :) Also, I got back $9.99 in ecbs from all my deals :) Not a bad return on those free coupons :)

**This is why you hold onto free coupons! I've had these for a while, but I hang onto them so I can use them to my advantage - like this time I used them to make money in the store. Make sure you use them before they expire, but hold them until the last week :)

To top off all my deals, I made sure to snag a free rental from both Redbox and Blockbuster :) Now while I put my stuff away, my husband can watch Thor or The Fighter :)
